Cannabis Legalization Effort CT

  • Great turn-out for the demonstration! Thanks to all who attended. Check out some pictures from the Hartford Courant.

  • From NORML.ORG: 58 Percent of Voters Oppose Arresting Marijuana Offenders — Support Senate Bill 349We told you that Senate Bill 349, an act to reclassify the possession of minor amounts of marijuana from a misdemeanor to an infraction, was popular among the public. Just how popular?

According to a just-published 2009 Quinnipiac University poll, 58 percent of Connecticut voters believe that minor marijuana offenders should face a fine in lieu of a criminal arrest. This is the first year that Connecticut residents have even been asked for their views on decriminalizing cannabis.

    How Can I Help
Tell your story. Cannabis user’s are a powerful demographic, if we are willing to stand up for what we believe in. If you are a recreational user who has been caught for possession, or a medical user trying to deal with your pain, or maybe you don’t use marijuana at all but believe in our cause. We would love to hear from you. You can tell your story on our forum or you can email us your story here .

    Contact your Officials

Please take a moment to contact your elected officials. Everything you need is provided by this link. It will even compose the message for you, or feel free to write your own. We would like to know what kind of responses people are getting from our elected officials. Please send NORML CT the responses you get. Thank you.
